DENVER (KDVR) — Denver's weather will see some big changes this weekend with cooler temperatures, rain and snow. A Pinpoint Weather Alert Day has been issued for Sunday.Weather tonight: More cloudsOvernight lows are just above average in the low 30s with light winds. Clouds will increase Friday night as snow builds into the southwestern corner of the state.Weather tomorrow: Cloudy with evening showerSnow will impact the mountains south of Interstate 70 on Saturday with cloudy skies in Denver.Highs on Saturday will be in the low 50s with light rain chances in the evening hours. That rain will swap over to snow by midnight along the Front Range and continue into Sunday morning. DENVER (KDVR) -- A serious crash is impacting traffic heading north on Interstate 25. According to FOX31 reporter Courtney Fromm, the backup began right before the Orchard Road exit (milepost 198) and was impacting traffic as far south as milepost 194, near the Colorado 470 interchange and Park Meadows. Authorities have launched an investigation after several cats and other animals were found either dead or injured in Tamarac. According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, over the weekend, a few people who normally feed a colony of stray cats at a parking lot behind a shopping plaza at 6931 NW 88th Ave., noticed that six cats and raccoons in the area had gunshot wounds and were lying on the pavement. One of those people is Hope Gold with Grateful Paws Dog & Cat Rescue. In the past week, she said she has been finding dead cats scattered in the parking lot.“[One of the cats] had been confirmed shot multiple times in the spine,” she said.Gold said she is currently feeding one of the strays, who is suffering from an eye injury after being shot in the eye. “I took pictures of the mommy and baby. Police have identified the body of a man that was found inside a pickup truck that caught on fire at a shopping center in Cutler Bay. A homeless man has since been charged with the victim’s murder. The victim was identified on Friday as 39-year-old Igor Ernesto Ortiz, who was a father and husband. The incident happened at a shopping plaza near Southwest 92nd Avenue and Old Cutler Road, at around 1:45 p.m.According to an arrest report, witnesses saw the suspect, 35-year-old Randall Lautzenheiser, and Ortiz arguing inside the truck.The report stated that Lautzenheiser was later seen walking to a Chevron gas station across the street and buying a gas can.The store’s clerk confirmed that information with 7News.“Yes, he came in. The friend of a woman killed in a crash in Stoneham last week is now speaking out about the loss, describing her friend while the police investigation into the crash continues. Authorities said 34-year-old Kayla Driscoll lost her life after her car rolled over on the northbound side of I-93 on Dec. 13.Driscoll, a Somerville resident and a massage therapist, was later mourned at her funeral on Wednesday just days before Christmas. “She was such a great person, awesome energy,” her friend, Theresa Milano, said in a recent interview. “Really, she just always had this big smile on her face.” Milano works as an esthetician.
